Think about the political developments in Europe that have transpired so far within this course, from approximately 1500-1800. Beginning with the medieval period, analyze how European states have transformed by the end of the eighteenth century [i.e. 1700s]. Be sure to look at multiple states and compare/contrast their respective development. The "progressive" theory of history argues that the world is always changing for the better, that things are constantly improving as time progresses. Based on the political developments that occurred throughout the early modern era, do you agree with this concept? Why or why not?
