1 ) Planning, planning, and more planning!
There's a lot of "planning" going on - capacity requirements planning, aggregate planning, material requirements planning. How important is planning, not only in the production environment, but in service organizations, and even in your daily lives? Can you think of any recent examples of poor resource management by businesses in the news or business magazines? What implications are there to poor resource management?
2.)Let's Get Lean!
The Principles of Lean Operating Systems can be applied to just about any process (i.e., goods-producing factories, service-providing organizations, student-learning, etc.). How can you apply lean operations to your learning process, for example? What other areas might benefit by going lean?
