Read And Write Assignment
Read the Osajima, K. Internalized Oppression and the Culture of Silence article, and then choose a passage that is confusing, upsetting, or fascinating. Then, write or discuss a response to this passage in three distinct ways:
1. Analytically (What does it say? How does it say it? Summarize the key points and interpret the meanings)
2. Emotionally (How does this passage affect you, and what feelings does it create in you? What was your response while reading it?)
3. Metacognitively (Make connections between this and other pieces we have read. What does this passage make you think about? What questions do you have about it? How can you connect this to other intellectual work you're doing?)
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
