Summarize an event that did happen an event that

Most scholars agree that certain forces in the centuries, decades, and months prior to the French Revolution (economic, social, political) made the Revolution inevitable. However, other specific events, personal decisions, and/or chance happenings also contributed. Consider TWO of these things: events/decisions that, if they happened differently, could have prevented, delayed, or changed the course of the Revolution.
First, briefly summarize the event/decision. (Event/decision must be one that occurred BEFORE the Revolution started in May, 1789.) Second, provide a different possible scenario for each event. Third, give your ideas on how the Revolution would have changed and why. (Emphasis of paper should be on steps two and three.) The two parts should be 300 words each. See below for suggested format. Be prepared to discuss your ideas in class.

Event #1:

1. Summarize an event that DID happen: an event that contributed to the course of the French Revolution.

2. What (relating to event above) could have happened differently.

3. Indicate how the French Revolution would have changed and why IF #2 above did happen (event happened differently).
