A 30 m x 30 m concrete floor slab is heated by 0.025 m diameter hot water pipes sunk beneath the floor surface and spaced 0.7 meterapart. The pipe centerlines are 0.075 m below the floor surface.the pipe wall temperature is 60C and the floor surface temperature is 20 C

The bottom of the slab is insulated.

Assume steady-state. Use k = 1.4 W/m-KSketch the steady-state heat flux pattern.

a) Apply the shape factor method to estimate the average heat transfer rate from the concrete floor into the room.
