Show why a higher-than-normal frequency result

When an electromagnetic wave is reflected from a moving reflector, the frequency of the reflected wave is different from that of the initial wave. Explain physically how this happpens. Also, show why a higher-than-normal frequency results if the reflector is moving toward the observer and a lower frequency if it is moving away. (some radar systems used for highway-speed control operate on this principle.)
