Sample of group participation adolescents

Childhood participation in sports, cultural groups, and youth groups appears to be related to enhanced self-esteem for adolescents (McGee, Williams, Howden-chapman, Martin, and Kawachi, 2006). In the representative study sample of n=100 adolescents with the history of group participation is given the standardized self-esteem questionnaire. For general population of adolescents, score on this questionnaire form normal distribution with mean of µ = 40 and standard deviation of σ =12. The sample of group participation adolescents had average of M = 43.84. Does this sample provide enough evidence to conclude that self-esteem scores for group-participation adolescents are significantly different from those of general population? Employ two-tailed test with α = .01.
