Assignment:
You may know what design and communication elements should be employed in the creation of an exemplary PowerPoint presentation, but do you know why those elements are used? In this module, you will begin working on your final project for this course, the PowerPoint presentation. For this activity, you will learn about and discuss the elements that comprise an effective PowerPoint presentation.
Since you are required to submit a PPT in Module 8, this is a good time to talk about what works and what does not.
Begin by locating and reviewing at least one video about Do's and Don'ts of PowerPoint (the subject "Death by PowerPoint" will bring up some of the more amusing ones). Does the presenter's advice seem good to you? Are the examples useful? Then, think of at least one time when you have delivered OR watched another person deliver a speech supported by visual aids -- either actual, physical aids or PowerPoint slides. Got it? You're ready to start the discussion.
In your initial post of 250+ words, please:
1. Share the URL of the video you reviewed. Comment on the content of the video: what tip or strategy do you plan to incorporate and what will you avoid doing?
2. Discuss what the person who delivered the actual speech with visuals could learn from this video. Be sure you address both the words and the visual aspect.
