A homogeneous mixture is one which has a constant composition throughout. By mixed sugar in water you create a homogeneous mixture. A homogeneous mixture is as well called a solution. In results the atoms and / or molecules of two or more substances are completely mingled with one another. Solutions don't have to be solids dissolved in liquids they can be mixtures of various states of matter. For instance air is a gaseous solution containing carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, water vapour and small amounts of other gases. An alloy is a homogeneous solution (mixture) of two or more metals or of metals and non-metals. An Alloys are considered to be solid solutions.
