The owners of the restaurant have put more effort on the restaurant, and that has come with a lot of benefits. El Pinto has managed to be one of the best because the twin brothers have taken the initiative if ensuring that the expansion of the organization is not compromised. However, looking at the way that the organization is handling the management of the restaurant, there might be some management challenges in the future.
a) Resistance to change:
The restaurant might have difficulty in keeping up with the pace of other restaurants in the near future. Evolution is a twenty-first-century fact that any business cannot ignore. The use of a traditional recipe that was invented by the grandmother of the twins might be outdated at some point. That means that the organization might be forced to look for other modern recipes or dissolve the business due to stiff competition.
b) Lack of diversity in production:
The twins have done so well in covering the food market. However, they have only concentrated on Mexican food. When an organization concentrates on one specific cultural product, it becomes difficult for people from other cultures to fit in. Therefore, in future, the restaurant might be limited to markets because it only concentrated on manufacturing a product that satisfies the needs of one specific cultural group.
c) Lack of adequate professional skills:
Projects and organizations require skills which contributors do not possess. In this case, the organization is a family owned business. Considering that the business belongs to the father, the sons automatically take over, despite their ability to possess proper leadership and management skills. There is a need to recommend training, assess available personnel and more so, hire additional staff to outsource for the purpose of effectiveness. Sharing the entrepreneurial spirit as the parents is not good enough for the business. Training and professional development lacks within El Pinto.
