Information systems management

Prepare PowerPoint slides and accompanying presenter’s notes for a presentation lasting approximately twelve minutes, on the topic below. Your presenter’s notes must be of sufficient information so that a very good final year Information Systems Management student could give your presentation instead of you. Your notes should not be a script which the other student would read word for word, but they should be brief and unambiguous notes which accompany the points on your slides.

Management tutorial group has been meeting in all year.

-  How well you address the topic, based on the content of the slides and the content of the accompanying notes

-  The structure of the presentation

-  The design of the slides

- Over the last nine months, a fictional company (Company A) has taken over three smaller organisations (Companies B, C and D) in the same business/ industrial sector. Previously, Company A regarded each of the other three as a rival. The Group IS/IT Manager of Company A has been instructed by the Group Board of Directors to rationalise the IS/IT departments across all four organisations.

(a) Explain, in broad terms, how the Group IS/IT Manager should approach this task and,

(b) Having established his overall approach, discuss four significant issues which would need to be considered. Your answer should cover areas which would plausibly be the responsibility of an IS/IT Manager, and those areas which an IS/IT Manager would address in moving to the smooth operation of the reshaped IS/IT function.
