In the above lecture you saw the example of Carrier distribution in which inventory levels were radically decreased through a combination of lead time reduction and process revolution. These changes were implemented in no small part due to the influence of Hammer and his associates in process re-engineering.
What's your response to the idea of just blowing it up and implementing a new process? Have you done this in your current or any past job or company? What was the result? Are processes better or worse?
