Discussion: Gender And Sex
Read the following instruction very carefully!!! and make sure that you meet all the requirements.
Instructions:
1. After you complete the readings assigned for the day, choose one to be the primary focus of your reading response. (In some cases there will only be one reading assigned.)
2. In a short paragraph, do your best to summarize the author's central argument in your own words (min. 75 words).
3. Next, identify two key ideas that you found particularly interesting and explain why they piqued your interest in several sentences each.
4. In a robust paragraph (min. 150 words), elaborate one or more ways you think the different readings assigned for the day speak to each other. If there is only one reading assigned, put it in conversation with one or more of the readings assigned for the previous class meeting. Some questions to prompt your thinking:
- Can you identify shared themes or problems that the authors address? How do they each tackle different aspects of a given issue? Do they agree? Disagree? Use different approaches or kinds of evidence?
5. Finally, pose one analytical question for class discussion.
- Good discussion questions will enable you and your peers to think critically about the reading, understand it better, evaluate its evidence or arguments, and explore its implications. Aim for questions that are genuinely debatable and for which there are a number of possible answers.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
