1. Read the Preface, Introduction and Cultural Orientation sections of the book - Kiss, Bow & Shake Hands.
2. Read the section for China.
3. Write a short assessment/critique (2-3 pages) describing what you agree with and what you disagree with and giving your recommendation for changes that you would make to update the Kiss, Bow & Shake Hands Book(K,B,SH).
4. Then select USA . Read the K,B,SH section about the assigned country, compare what the book says about the country with any personal knowledge about or experience you have with that country. Assume you are being assigned as the Project Manager for a project being run in the assigned country.
5. Write a paper (3-4 pages) about how you would prepare and what changes and modifications would be necessary to work in that country as compared to running a similar project in your home country. What do you see as positive aspects; what do you envision as primary challenges? Present any personal thoughts you might have about working in that country.
Consider Items 3 & 5, above, as two separate written assignments:
Written Assignment 1 - Write a 2-3 pages about the K,B,SH description of your home country
Written Assignment 2 - 3 to 4 pages about preparing for a PM assignment in the country you selected in item 4, above.
