Assignment: Annotated Table of Contents--Writing for Industry
Goal:
1) Understand the structure and features of research reports aimed at an industry audience.
2) Reflect on the benefits and shortcomings of industry-focused research reports for assessing research quality.
This assignment contributes toward learning goal #6, which is to distinguish ways to communicate research findings for academic and layaudiences.
Approach:
Select and read one of the industry reports in the Module. Your task is to provide an annotated Table of Contents in outline form. Start by organizing the major headers and sub-headers found in the report and then briefly explain the content that is presented in each section.For example, a first sectionmight be as follows:
1. Table of Contents
Provides the locationof every major section of the report, plus locationof tables and figures.
2. Executive Summary
Explanatory text of what is included in this section.
Etc.
The annotated TOC should be no more than 4pages, singled spaced (11 pt. Arial font).
In addition to the TOC, a 1-page reflection will also be appended.The reflection should address thefollowing questions:
1. What did you like about reading this report?
2. What did you dislike about reading this report?
3. How is this report valuable for solving an industry problem?
4. What information was provided that allowed you to judge the quality of work describe in the report?
5. Compared to academic research, would this be interesting/easier to use by junior staff of an apparel brand/retailer to use to inform their work?

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
