Option 1: How has something you have learned in this course affected your life. Have you found a new genre of music you like? Have you been able to share a parent or grandparent's interest in jazz? Etc. Be specific and use specific examples. This essay does not require any sources or citations. However, if you DO quote a source, be sure that you cite it! This essay should be approximately 1.5 to 2 pages long, double spaced. You can earn up to 15 points on this essay.
Option 2: How did early jazz effect and influence a modern musician or genre? Choose a 21st century NON-jazz musician or genre (ie: hip hop, rap, country, etc.) and describe how he/she/it was influenced by a jazz artist or jazz genre from the 20th century. This essay should be approximately 1.5 to 2 pages long, double spaced. You can earn up to 20 points on this essay.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
