Assignment: BILINGUAL EDUCATION
Interview at least two people (friends or family members) about their attitudes toward bilingual education, using the following questions (Provide at least a 250-word minimum response):
• Do you believe bilingual education should be offered in public schools? Why or why not?
• Should schools use an immersion approach to teaching a country's dominant language to immigrant children, or should schools teach both the child's native tongue and the new national language? Explain.
• Do you speak more than one language? If so, how did you acquire your second language, and how fluent are you?
Were there additional questions that you would like to ask, or that you did ask? Following the interviews, compare the answers with research reported in the text. Did your interviewees provide answers that are consistent with contemporary attitudes toward bilingual education? Explain.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
