Corrective action plans relate to the "controlling" management function in the clinical research industry. This assignment is your final project/assignment for this class and will integrate the controlling function with the leadership challenge.
Task
• 4-6 page, APA-formatted paper (page numbers do not include title or reference page)
• Topic: Corrective Action Plans and the leadership challenge in clinical research
• Paper must include:
o Introduction (2-3 paragraphs): Why and how are CAP plans used in clinical research? (include at least 1 reference)
o Body (4-20 paragraphs):
- Describe how CAP plans are part of the management function of controlling.
- Use the 5 practices of exemplary leadership from the Leadership Challenge to describe how you, as a new director in a research site, will influence your team toward successful adaptation of a Standard Operating Procedure for corrective action plans. This will you require you to describe the practice as it relates to the situation and a specific action you will perform to make it happen.
o Conclusion (2-3 paragraphs): Summarize the situation and your responsibility as a leader to operationalize a CAP process at the site.
