Discussion - How can organizations manage conflict, and use negotiation as a business tool?
Describe a situation where you witnessed conflict, either in your workplace or some organization. Explain how it followed the stages of conflict development. How was the conflict resolved? Which method was used to deal with the problem, and how effective was the result? Also, describe a situation where you saw negotiation used at work. Were all of the steps of successful negotiation followed? If not, which steps were not carried out? Explain how the negotiation was brought to a close. Was the outcome acceptable to both parties? If not, explain what could have been done differently to reach mutual satisfaction.
