Case Assignment
Use the readings from Module 5 and any other relevant sources to write a 3 to 5 page paper to answer the following question: How are the current reform efforts changing education? Your paper should rely extensively on a synthesis and critical analysis of the background readings.

Scholarly writing Demonstrates mastery and proficiency in scholarly written communication at the doctoral level.
Quality of references and organization Demonstrates mastery using relevant and quality sources and uses appropriate, relevant, and compelling content from the module readings or other sources to support ideas, and convey understanding of the topic and shape the work.
Citing sources Demonstrates mastery applying APA formatting standards to both in-text citations and the reference list.
Professionalism and Timeliness Demonstrates excellence in taking responsibility for learning; adhering to course requirement policies and expectations. Assignments submitted on time or collaborated with professor for an approved extension on due date.
Current Reform Policy
Use the "Reform for the Future" link, your own knowledge and experience, and other relevant sources you find to create a presentation (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, Wiki, etc.) to outline the current administrations education reform policies.
The current administration outlines six reform policies (Race to the Top, Redesigning and Reforming NCLB, Fortifying Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education, Sparking Innovation, Ensuring Opportunity for All, and Strengthening the Teaching Profession). Prepare slides for each policy that defines and outline the policy. Include a critical analysis of the reform effort and its impact on schools nation-wide. The format of the presentation is up to you, but it should be the equivalent of 12 to 15 PowerPoint slides. Your presentation should:
· Clearly describe each of the six reform efforts
· Discuss their impact on the current educational system.
· Create the presentation in a manner that can be used with multiple constituent groups (i.e. - teachers, staff, parents, the community, etc.)
· Utilize the notes section (or otherwise contain presenter notes) to elaborate on points made throughout the presentation
· Reference sources (in-text citations) throughout the presentation.
