Find the force on the side of the loop


A closed wire loop is in the shape of a right triangle, with sides 12cm , 12cm , and 12 sqrt 2 cm. The loop lies in the x-y plane, with the one corner at the origin and the shorter sides along the x- and y-axes. The loop carries 290mA in the clockwise direction. A uniform magnetic field of 0.75T points in the +y-direction.

a) Find the force on the 12cm side of the loop parallel to the x-axis. Assume the +z-direction as positive.

b) Find the force on the 12cm side of the loop parallel to the y-axis.

c) Find the force on the 12 sqrt 2 cm side of the loop.

d) Add the forces to get the net force. Express your answers to two significant figures and include the appropriate units.
