You have also conducted field research about practice related to the disorder-an interview with a mental health professional. Based on all of the information you have gathered, develop a paper that includes the following:

• Describe the cause, extent, and nature of the disorder, such as number of people diagnosed and under treatment, demographics, and other factors of interest.

• Explain how the selected disorder is diagnosed.

• Explain how the selected disorder is treated. Be sure to include all the views on appropriate treatment and comment on diversity of views or dissent.

• Differentiate the diagnosis of this disorder from those of the other disorders within the same diagnostic category.

• Comment on culturally bound syndromes, cultural biases, or the interplay between assessment and diagnosis and culture.

• Provide data from the professional interview completed relevantly and substantively integrating this information into the body of the paper. Provide the name of the interviewed professional with his/her credentials. Written transcripts of the interview should be recorded and submitted with the assignment (e.g. in paper as an appendices).

I've selected to discuss Dissociative Identity Disorder. Dissociative Identity Disorder, commonly known as DID is a complex multiple personality disorder caused my various factors including severe trauma during childhood. DID is considered a mental process which disconnects a person with certain memories, thoughts and/or certain emotions. This is disorder is often seen as a coping mechanism and can be very complex to treat. There are three types of dissociative disorders

• Write ten interview questions that will bring out the information you need.

1. What is the difference between Schizophrenia and DID?

2. Is this disorder better treated homeopathically or with medications?

3. What are the most common symptoms of DID?

4. Is this disorder commonly misdiagnosed?

5. Are there any diagnostic and/or lab testing that can help aid in a more accurate diagnosis during treatment plan?

6. Can DID be a genetic trait?

7. What may someone experience if there is a gap in and/or no treatment in place for the client?

8. Is there a certain age range or can symptoms begin to manifest at any point in life?

9. Are clients presenting with symptoms at higher risk for suicide versus those of other mental illnesses?

10. Is it possible for someone to experience DID as a side effect to a medication versus having an actual history of trauma or abuse?
