Element of the criminal justice system

 Ass8ignment:

For your final research project, you will describe and evaluate a recent criminal justice practice (e.g., body cameras, training, parole guidelines), policy (e.g., community policing, revision or application of sentencing reform) or a legal case (either state or federal) that was intended to address the issues of racial/ethnic disparity and discrimination in any element of the criminal justice system (or actions made by an actor within the criminal justice system).

You should describe the issues of disparity/discrimination as it related to your topic, your chosen topic's central elements and how it is supposed to achieve the goal of disparity/discrimination reduction, discuss how it relates to theories, concepts, and evidence discussed in class (either justifying its implementation or affecting prior trends), and review its effectiveness, if any, in implementing change (a reduction in disparity or discriminatory practices across race/ethnicity). If no evaluations to date have been made, you should propose a thorough and feasible research strategy to address its effectiveness. You should draw upon various academic publications (minimum of 10) outside of class readings to support your research efforts
