Discussion Assignment
The discussion assignment provides a forum for discussing relevant topics related to the week's readings and indicated course competencies.
Start reviewing and responding to the postings of your classmates as early in the week as possible. Respond to at least two of your classmates' initial postings on different days of the week. Participate in the discussion by providing a statement of clarification, providing a point of view with a rationale, challenging an aspect of the discussion, or indicating a relationship between two or more lines of reasoning in the discussion. Additionally, you may want to ask questions of your classmates to solicit their points of view related to a topic or provide examples from your own experiences to demonstrate how topics are experienced in a real world setting. Cite sources in your responses to other classmates. Complete your participation for this assignment by the end of the week.
The goal statement is a very important aspect of a grant proposal. The goal should convey a worthwhile outcome, prompting the grant review committee to fund your proposal because of its compelling nature. Using course materials and information from the South library and an online search:
1. Find and include in your response a grant proposal goal statement that you found to be well written. Discuss the elements of a well written goal statement.
2. Find and include in your response a poorly written grant proposal goal statement. Discuss why it is poorly written and re-write it so it is well written.
• Discuss the difference between a grant proposal goal statement and objectives.

1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
