Part I
Topic: You have just been promoted to your first midlevel management position. Identify four ways in which you might provide ethical leadership. Rank your choices in terms of importance and explain the rationale for your ranking.
As the beginning of a scholarly conversation, your initial post should be:
i. Succinct-no more than 200 words.
ii. Provocative-use concepts and combinations of concepts from the readings to propose relationships, causes, and/or consequences that inspire others to engage (inquire, learn). In other words, take a scholarly stand.
iii. Supported-scholarly conversations are more than opinions. Ideas, statements, and conclusions are supported by clear research and citations from course materials as well as other credible, peer-reviewed resources.
Part II: Workplace Ethics and Technology
Widget Company does not issue cell phones to employees but expects employees to respond to e-mails and texts within two hours seven days a week. To receive e-mail from their employer, the employees must give the company permission to access their personal phones to view any of its applications, as well as restore the phone to factory settings.
i. Discuss the ethical issues related to the company's expectations.
ii. How does Widget's expectations compare with your employer's?
iii. Suggest ways to resolve the conflicts.
