Developing a global mindset

Question 1. Folks, one area of consideration is women in business. While we have our glass ceilings that must be broken, we have a generally accepting position for women in business within the U.S. That acceptance is anywhere near equal in the Middle East and even into advanced countries such as Japan. Female managers have started to appear in Japanese companies but that is a recent change. In the 1980s I was working for Fujitsu and they had their first two female engineers and all the managers could say is they will not be here long because they will get married and they will not be working after that.

Anyone ran into other instances where women or other cultural differences make it difficult for one to perform a specific job?

Question 2. Do you think that by developing a global mindset would be or is the only way to solve global threats? If so why or why not? Would you agree that there are more commonalities than differences and that opening that door of commonalities we will be able to have a newer approach about threats?
