Determine radial and tangential stresses as functions

Two hollow metal cylinders are to be press-fitted together. The outer Steel member has outer and inner diameters of 127.0 mm and 101.60 mm respectively; ES = 206.7 GPa and vS = 0.29 (Poisson's Ratio for Steel). The inner Brass member has outer and inner diameters of 101.651 mm and 50.8 mm respectively; EB = 103.4 GPa and vB = 0.32 (Poisson's Ratio for Brass). Determine :

(a) The interface pressure

(b) Radial and tangential stresses as functions of r. Calculate these stresses at a minimum of 7 radial positions and plot your results.

(c) Radial deflection of the extreme outer and inner surfaces of the compound cylinder.
