Course Description

Task
Part One
Read all chapters in Part one section of the textbook before class. Complete the following assignments:
1. Write a 500-550 word count paper referring to the Real World Case, The New York Times and Boston Scientific:
Two Different Ways of Innovating with Information Technology. Address the following: a) Identify any technology-enabled innovations that you have read about or come across recently. b) To what extent is innovation about technology itself, and to what extent is it about changing the underlying ways that companies do business?
2. Write a 500-550 word count paper referring to what MIS author and consultant Peter Keen said, "We have learned that it is not technology that creates a competitive edge, but the management process that exploit technology." What does he mean? Do you agree or disagree? Support your answer.

Read all chapters in Part two section of the textbook before class. Complete the following assignments:
1. Write a 500-550 word count paper referring to the Real World Case, IT in Healthcare: Voice Recognition Tools make Rounds at Hospital. Although these and other technologies are becoming more prevalent in healthcare, doctors have traditionally been reluctant to adopt them. Why do you think this is the case? How would these technologies change the way doctors perform their jobs?
2. Write a 500-550 word count paper identifying several major developments and trends in the industries, technologies, and business applications of telecommunications and Internet technologies.
Part Three
Read all chapters in Part three section of the textbook before class. Complete the following assignments:
1. Write a 500-550 word count paper referring to the Real World Case, LinkedIn, Umbria, Mattel and Others: Driving the "Buzz" on the Web. You are to reflect on your purchasing behavior. How much do you rely on blogs, feedback, and recommendations from past customers in making your own purchasing decision? Why do you (or don't you) rely on these sources of information? Do you believe they are largely unbiased?
2. Write a 500-550 word count paper,arranging the factors for success in e-commerce that are outlined in Figure
9.11 in sequential order from most important to least important. Provide the rationale for your order of priority.
Part Four
Read all chapters in Part four section of the textbook before class. Complete the following assignment:
1. In two pages (cover page and one page 200-250 words), refer to the Real World Case, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Others: Understanding the Science behind Change. Organizational change goes beyond promotions and the threat of layoffs. What other ways than those discussed in the case would you use to entice people to embrace proposed changes? Provide several suggestions and justify their rationale.
Part Five
Read all chapters in Part five section of the textbook before class. Complete the following assignments:
1. Final Summary Paper and Presentation: Submit typed and double-spaced 8-10 full pages to include a cover page. Your paper is to summarize your learning experiences throughout this course.
2. You will present your summary to the class in a time frame of 10-15 minutes. This is a formal presentation and will be graded as such. The assignment should reflect a significant amount of preparation and work. The presentation should be formal, polished and well-rehearsed. You are required to include PowerPoint and or hand-outs; these tools will serve as visual aids and should highlight main ideas covered in your presentation. The final paper/presentation will include at least three outside sources as well as follow proper citation for each source.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
