Database System Development v.1

The database application project (or DAP) for this course comprises of the creation of a fully functional Microsoft Access database application for a real client. It is recommended to select a potential client organization with which you have some familiarity, example: a bowling league, a small business or a club. The application must not be complex. The final Access database application prototype should meet the given minimum criteria:

Tables:

1) A minimum of 5 tables, comprising intersection tables where necessary;

2) Tables should have adequate data (minimum of 8 records each) to fully explain the functionalities of your database application;

3) At least four table relationships, all of which should have referential integrity enforced.

Queries:

1) At least five queries (total) suitable to the database requirements;

2) Of such five, at least one query should prompt the user for input (that is, parameter query) and use the input in the criteria for the query;

3) Of such five, at least one query should use an aggregate function to compute a summary statistic for a suitable field in a table.

4) Of such five, at least two queries should retrieve data from multiple tables.

Forms:

1 All the required forms for inputting and displaying the data in your database as needed by your client. One form per table for data entry.

2) At least one form displaying data from a minimum of two tables.

Reports:

1) At least four reports (total) for data output;

2) Of such four, at least two reports must be based on a multiple-table query.

3) At least one report must display grouped data.

User Interface:

1) Give a user interface to access the features or characteristics of the prototype.
