Extra credit

I thought I'd offer up an extra credit opportunity to you concerning ethics. The old adage, "timing is everything' is appropriate in this regard for us. You may have seen or read in the news that there has been a story about 50-something Central Command analysts who are complaining that their analysis about ISIS had been modified and softened by their chain-of-command. Some news outlets are reporting that the Director of National Intelligence (General Clapper) may have been too hands-on in direct contact with CENTCOM, forcing them to paint a more optimistic picture about ISIS than they should have.

So, here's your extra credit assignment--research this story in the open source media. Make a case for this as an ethical dilemma. Who failed? Why? What could (or should) be done to ensure politicization does not influence the intelligence products being produced by our Intelligence Community.
