Applied Technology Planner
FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE: Oversees and coordinates the evaluation and the initial dvelopment of applications for state-of-the-art data processing equipment and various information system technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge of major USPS business areas and supporting field functions.
2. Knowledge of state-of-the-art and leading edge Information Systems related technologies at a level sufficient to oversee and coordinate the development of prototype business applications of new technologies.
3. Ability to conduct research (locate resources and collect data) related to technology applications, directions and trends.
4. Ability to analyze user information requirements and recommend technological solutions.
5. Ability to define and negotiate standard approaches that allow for the efficient reuse of successful new technology prototypes in multiple business areas and applications.
6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare and present business cases, strategies, and statements of work.
