In terms of memory, Linux uses hard drives such as magnetic drives whereas Android uses flash memory.

In terms of power management which is very important due to increase in the demand of power due to various modern desktops and laptops, Linux uses Advanced Power Management (APM) and Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) whereas Android uses its own PowerManager.
