VRM is referred to as the processor power module, VRM stands for voltage regulator module and is the module which is either embedded into the motherboard or as a separate small circuit board which regulates and supplies correct voltage to processor. By utilizing a VRM, AMD and Intel may adjust the power to processor in place of requiring the power supply in order to supply the correct current. One of the first motherboards to have the VRM was motherboards that are using the Socket 7 socket.
