A sound card is defined as an expansion card or the integrated circuit that gives a computer with the ability to generate sounds which can be heard by the user either over the speakers or the headphones. The computer sound card is considered as the peripheral, though the computer do not require a sound card in order to function almost every computer today will involve a sound card in the expansion slot or on the motherboard (onboard).
