a) SOA refers to an IT architecture strategy for the business solution (and infrastructure solution) delivery based upon the concept of the service-orientation. SOA is also defined as a set of elements that can be invoked, and whose interface descriptions can be published and discovered.

b) SOA aims at building systems which are extendible, flexible and fit with the legacy systems.

c) It encourages the re-use of the basic elements known as services.
