Haemoglobin F can be defined as the haemoglobin which is found inside the foetus of mammalian and haemoglobin A is the normal haemoglobin. Haemoglobin F has highest affinity for the oxygen. The foetus requires haemoglobin which is capable of extracting the oxygen from the mother’s circulation. Thus, the foetus requires haemoglobin F as it has highest affinity for oxygen as compared to the mother’s haemoglobin.
