A capacitor refers to a component that is made up of two or sets of two conductive plates along with the thin insulator between them and wrapped within the ceramic and plastic container. When capacitor receives a direct current (DC), a positive charge builds upon one of plates (or set of plates) however if a negative charge builds up on the other. This charge that is measured in the microfarads on a computer capacitor remains within the capacitor until it gets discharged.
