What do you mean by slack? Describe in brief.
Expert
Slack is the quantity of time you have which is measured from when an event really happens and when it should happen. The word really happens can as well be taken as being a predicted time for when the event will really happen.
If something 'must happen' can as well be termed as a 'deadline' so the other definition of slack would be the time from when something really happens (call this Tact) till the deadline (call this Tdead).
Slack = Tdead - Tact.
Negative slack implies that the really happen time is later than the 'deadline' time. In another words it's too late and a timing violation. You have a timing problem which requires some attention.
