What do you mean by the term ALE? Describe the functions of ALE in 8085?

The address latch enables in the case of microcontroller 8051 and microprocessor 8085 by which the data line and low order 8 bit address lines are multiplexed. In order to getting address from this line we employ a latch. ALE is a line connected to this latch stating that take the address from the line.
NB: This is employed only when we connecting our micro controller to the external memory.
