Time spend early in the software production cycle can lead to bigger economy at later stages. This has been shown that a bug found in the early stages (like requirements specification or design) is cheaper in terms of the money, effort and time, to fix the similar bug found later on in the method. McConnell estimates that a requirement defect that is left undetected till maintenance or construction will cost 50 to 200 times as much to fix as it would encompass cost to fix at requirements time. To take a great instance, if a program design turns out to be impossible to implement, it is simpler to fix the design at the design stage than to realize months later, if program components are being integrated, that all the work completed so far has to be scrapped as of a broken design.
