:

The following are the major aspects that this attempt aims to look into. Some of them are as discussed below:

• To increase the levels of awareness and the issues that are faced while screening the old patients for the problems of elder abuse.

• To look into the training and the levels of awareness required in the workers for increasing the knowledge level about the elder abuse.

• To make recommendations to the various people like the policy makers and the decision makers about the various aspects of elder abuse like identification and treatment and handling of the various issues.

There is a whole set of questions that are needed for having a fair understanding of the issue of elderly abuse. For this a set of questions to be asked is needed. There were various aspects and steps involved in the research of such a heavy and complex issue. The first and foremost is the primary research. This primary research included gathering knowledge about the various terms and an aspect that are linked with the elderly abuse through various means and works that have been published before. This was done via magazines, books, journals, publications and even through searches made on the internet.

Certain aspects of the literature review that were available in relation to this topic of elder abuse were left like the topic of child abuse and also the abuse in the various institutions like old age homes etc. finally, the content analysis of the data collected by the various means was also done. This was done majorly to make sure that the theme and the content of the study could be understood and clarified. This also helped in making sure that the sub topics that needed to be a part of the study and the ones that were to be left out.

Methodology:

According to the advance learners dictionary for English, research has been defined as “careful and well sorted search and analysis of the data and searching for new facts and analysis in any particular branch of knowledge”. Research, according to some refers and includes defining the problem statement, collecting information, processing that information, finding co relations and also formulating and applying hypothesis to the information and relations found. These hypothesis and relations are then used to make analytical deductions and coming to meaningful and well supported conclusions. Cross checking of the hypothesis and testing of these drawn conclusions is also a part of the research mechanism and methodology.

Secondary data analysis:

The primary data analysis basically consists of gathering information via a survey. A questionnaire will be prepared and then will be sent to a sample space predefined. This filled questionnaire will then be analyzed and patterns will be drawn from it. These answered questions will then be analysed to find some patterns and deductions. Thus the primary data will help in the gathering and analysis of the current trends and patterns with respect to the live scenario and audience.
