What do you understand by the term run length encoding? Explain in brief.




Run length encoding is the compression method utilized to store the intensity values in the frame buffer that stores each and every scan line as the set of integer pairs. One number each pair points out an intensity value, and second number identifies the number of adjacent pixels on the scan line which have that intensity value.
