Terrestrial molluscs and arachnid arthropods are the invertebrates which exists pulmonary-like respiration. Various terrestrial molluscs contain a mantle cavity filled with air which makes contact with richly vascularized tissues which work as rudimentary lungs. In addition to their tracheal respiration certain arachnids contain book lungs (that is, thin folds resembling leaves of a book) which make gas exchange.
