The major natural plant hormones and their respective functions include:
a) Auxins : the best called natural auxin is IAA, or indoleacetic acid: their function includes promoting the plant growth, distension and the cellular differentiation.
b) Gibberellins : perform the action same as that of the auxins (growth and distension), stimulate the flowering and the formation of the fruit and activate the seed germination.
c) Cytokinins : Rises the cellular division rate and together with the auxins help the growth and tissue differentiation, slow the aging of the plant.
d) Ethylene (ethene) : It is a gas which is released by the plants which participates within the process of the growth and has the noteworthy role in the fruit ripening and in the leaf abscission.
