Heart compelling the blood
How does the heart compel the blood?
Expert
The heart can be defined as the muscular organ which consists of the chambers: right ventricle and right atrium and right ventricle and left atrium through which the blood passes. Blood enters the heart through atria, goes to ventricles and then it leaves the organ. Blood is pumped out of the heart through the contraction of the muscle fibers that forms the ventricular walls. This contraction decreases the ventricle volume hence raising the internal pressure and then the blood flows into the exit vessels which is pulmonary artery for the right ventricle and aorta for the left ventricle. When the ventricular muscle fibers dilate the ventricles resume their original size and get the new blood flow from the atria.
