Explain how the heterotrophic beings are divided wihtin the ecological study of the food interactions?

Heterotrophs are divided into the consumers and the decomposers. An ecosystem may exist without the help of consumers however it may not be sustained without the decomposers. Without decomposers, organic material could accumulate resulting in the environmental degradation and later death of living beings.
