Briefly write down the dissimilarities between Alderfer’s ERG theory of motivation and Maslow’s needs Hierarchy?

The dissimilarities between them are as follows:

a) Maslow‘s major contention is the hierarchy of needs, while Alderfer mainly focused more on the continuum of needs in spite of their hierarchical levels.

b) Therefore, ERG needs do not keep sharp lines of demarcation.

c) Unlike Maslow Alderfer as well envisaged downward movement in hierarchy. In his opinion, there can be not merely satisfaction progression however frustration regression also.
