Disadvantages of the RAD

Describe some of the disadvantages of the RAD (Rapid Application Development).

Some of the disadvantages of the RAD are as follows:

a) For big (but scalable) projects, RAD needs sufficient resources to make the right number of RAD teams.

b) The RAD projects will fail if there is no commitment through the developers or the clients to rapid-fire activities essential to get a system complete in a much abbreviated time-frame.

c) When a system can’t be properly modularized, building components for the RAD will be problematic.

d) RAD is not suitable when technical risks are high, example: this takes place when a new application makes high use of latest technology.
