Both of these commands are run at open boot Prom (obp) probe-scsi will probe internal scsi and probe-scsi-all will probe internal and external both scsi.

The probe-scsi command communicates along with all SCSI devices linked to on-board SCSI controllers.

The probe-scsi-all command as well accesses devices linked to any host adapters installed in PCI slots.
