Synthetic auxins, like indolebutyric acid (or IBA) and naphthalenic acid (or NAA) are substances alike to IAA (a natural auxin) however artificially made. Some are employed to accelerate techniques of asexual reproduction (like budding or grafting) and others are even employed as herbicides because they selectively kill some plants mainly dicots.
